Diceritakan Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min Ho) adalah sosok pemuda tampan yang sangat jenius, namun dibalik kejeniusannya ia terkenal sebagai seorang penipu ulung yang sangat ahli. Hingga suatu hari ia dipertemukan dengan seorang wanita cantik bernama Shim Chung (Jun Ji-hyun) ia adalah seorang putri dari era Joseon yang berwujud separuh manusia dan separuh ikan atau disebut putri duyung.
